John Miles

John grew up in Central Texas, and after receiving a BSEE from the University of Texas, pursued a career in engineering and sales which took him to numerous locations on the West Coast and in the Southwest.

His interest in photography started early, and he has tried to keep a camera with him and use it as much as possible. He loves to travel and enjoys photographing the areas he lived in and traveled to as a means of recording travels, experiences, family and friends.

John is converting his older photos from prints, negatives, and slides to digital images, and has been using a digital camera since they first became available. As converting old photos to digital images often requires use of photo editing software, this led to his current use of Adobe Photoshop. He enjoys using the latest Photoshop software, which he feels presents a real learning opportunity, and is currently an instructor in the use of Adobe Photoshop Elements.

Since moving to Sun City Texas almost nine years ago from Scottsdale, he has enjoyed being an active member of the Photography Club and learning from the club’s extremely talented photographers and artists what is required  to create a desirable photograph.
