Elliot grew up in New York City, and attended Syracuse University, where he graduated with a BS with majors in marketing management and advertising. His business career includes stops in media management at Benton & Bowles/NY, trade publication media sales, advertising sales for TV Guide & McCalls, as well as sales and marketing management in TV & radio advertising sales in Los Angeles and Chicago for RKO General and Metro Media, the forerunner to the FOX network.
Since meeting and marrying Susan in Chicago in 1979, they moved to Southern California and spent 25 years there, mostly in Laguna Niguel, where he continued in the advertising industry.
They also owned a Deck The Walls store, which Susan ran. Besides managing the business and accounting side of the store, Elliot moved into sales and marketing management for a division of HON industries, which was located in Southern California.
They moved to Sun City in July of 2008 and have not looked back. He immediately started playing golf and has enjoyed the wonderful climate and friendship that Sun City provides. One of the first things they did was to join the Photography Club, and they have enjoyed field trips, meetings and SIGs, and the social activities. He now has a Nikon D90, and frequently uses a Nikkor 18-200mm zoom in addition to a Nikkor 35mm. Elliot became involved with photography in his early teens working in a summer camp's dark room developing and printing pictures for his friends. His first camera was a Brownie Hawkeye (with flash), then moving on to an Argus C-3, and then into a Nikkormat-EL working mostly with B/W film. Then it was put away for many, many years.
The Sun City Photography Club has awakened Elliot's interest in capturing images so Susan can be the creative director, utilizing Photoshop to produce enjoyable final results.
