Charlie Welsh received an Honorable Mention for his photo "Shadows of our Former Selves" in the Georgetown Fall Art Hop 2009. Charlie was one of sixteen photographers that took a winning place in the Competition. And the only Photography Club member as well. Congratulations Charlie.

Burton Anes was one of three winners in the Palace Theatre Art Contest. Burton's photo of the Palace Entryway will be the watermark on the 2009 - 2010 season tickets. Burton will have the original photo and others he entered hanging as an exhibit in the Palace Theatre.
Wes Odell won a 4th Place in the 2009 Texas State Fair's Photography Contest for his color picture of an Osprey coming in for a landing at its nest. This was in the "Birds and Insects Color" Category.
Wes Odell received notification of an HM in the PSA Pictorial Print of the Month for July. The image is "Three Trophies," a color picture of three white water lillies. This is in addition to the earlier posting of a 1st and a 3rd in the same competition for Mono prints.
Each year all the PSA Green Eagle winners from the preceding 12 months enter their Green Eagle images in a "Year 2009" contest of just these winning images. Wes Odell won a first in the Monochrome prints category for "Norse Texas Springtime", and was in a three way tie for first in the Color prints category with his "Park City Barn in Winter" and "On the Way to Vespers." Wes is the only photographer to have winning images in both the Color and Monochrome categories.
Georgetown Art Works, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts in the City of Georgetown, Texas, announces a call for artists for the Fall Art Hop, a juried art show and stroll, to be held October 2nd – 30th, 2009, in the historic district of Georgetown, Texas. Original works by painters/mixed media artists, photographers and printmakers are accepted.

Wes Odell received two awards for the July 2009 PSA Picture of the Month, Monochrome category. Wes received 1st place for his image, "A Busy Painter at the San Antonio Mission" and 3rd place for his image, "After the Storm, Zion N.P." Two of our members have completed the PSA Individualized Photography Course offered to new PSA members. Holly Moore and Randall Best continue to challenged through their participation in PSA events and have been acknowledged as having some of the best work of new members.

Wes Odell just received a Third Place in the Monochrome Picture of the Month Contest of the Photographic Society of America for the month of April 2009. The image is a "pen and ink" rendition of a deserted homestead in Southern Idaho, titled "Gone Are the People - The Homesteaders."
Burton Anes 'Cambodian Flower' placed 12th in the found framed international challenge by dpreview.com. Some of you may remember, this was the same photo Burton submitted in our PC January 2009 SOM critique - Competition/Framing the Subject. Congratulations Burton.
Wes Odell had his image of the Veterans' Plaza selected for the cover of the May "Sun Rays." In March, his picture of Columbines was the cover selection.
Wes Odell won a Third Place in the Photographic Society of America’s Monthly Picture of the Month (Monochrome) “Water Lilly,” and an Honorable Mention in Color, “She’ll be Comin’ ‘Round the Mountain,” both in the month of March.

Holly Moore received two awards in the 2009 City of Richardson Photography Contest. Holly received Third place in the Composited Category for "The Woodsman" and Honorable mention in the People Category for "Morning Sun in Beijing". All winning photos will be exhibited in the Richardson Public Library - 3rd floor thru February 24, 2009.
Ron Addison received 2008 Photograph of the Year from the Fr. Myers, Florida Camera Club for his image "Michigan Web". Special congratulations to Wes Odell for being the only PSA Pictorial Print Division Study Group member to win a ribbon in both B&W and Color categories of the GE (Green Eagle Certificate) Competition for 2007/2008. The Photographic Society of America has many groups and venues to develop and challenge one's artistic skills. Wes continues to master his art form participating the PSA PPD Study Group. of monk at prayer, "Dignity," won an Honorable Mention in Monochrome
Prints. Each month members may submit two images in Color and two in
Monochrome.
Jim Bilbro is one of nineteen artists accepted into the Menage a Trois Exhibition at the Watson Studio Gallery in Johnson City, TX. In addition to being accepted among the 63 entrants, Jim won an honorable mention for his trio of images. The Exhibition will be on display thru April 13, 2008.

Marge Odell was awarded an Honorable Mention by the Photographic Society of America Monthly “Picture of the Month” contest in January in the Color Division for her “An Olympic Venue.”
Wes Odell, has prints in the Water: Metaphor, Myth, and Meaning exhibition at the Walkers' Gallery of the San Marcos Activity Center from January 11 to February 29, 2008. The exhibition is sponsored by the San Marcos Arts Area Council and the City of San Marcos with support from the San Marcos Arts Commission.

Wes Odell had prints accepted for "High and Dry: A photographic exhibition of landscapes and people of the world's dry lands" sponsored by the International Cultural Center of Texas Tech University's Office of International Affairs. The exhibit will be on display from December 7, 2007 - January 17, 2007.
Wes Odell was awarded two Honorable Mentions by the Photographic Society of America’s (PSA) Monthly “Picture of the Month” Contest in November. In the Color Division, it was his “On the Way to Vespers,” and it was “Shrimp Boats Ready to Sail” in the Monochrome Division.
Marge and Wes Odell were invited to hold a two-person exhibit of 65 photographs at the Healing Arts Gallery of the St. David’s/Georgetown Hospital for the month of October.
Wes Odell had work accepted for the Skies & Travel Over Central Texas exhibit at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The exhibition runs from October 24, 2007 to January 22, 2008.
Wes Odell had work represented at the Third annual Naturescapes contest and exhibition sponsored by the San Marcos Greenbelt Alliance. The exhibition will be at the San Marcos Activity Center through October 26, 2007.
A First Place Rosette and cash prize were awarded to Wes Odell in the Photography Division at the Bartlett Texas Annual Town Festival and Fair with his Black and White picture of “The Loneliest Tree” from Zion National Park.
