Feature Photographer Ruth Jackson

I have lived in Sun City since August, 2008. My husband, Cliff, and I moved here from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I joined the Photography Club in February 2009. We have two children and two grandchildren.

I have been interested in photography since I purchased a Sony digital point and shoot camera about four years ago. I did not take time to pursue that interest until I retired in 2008 and moved to Sun City. I updated to a Nikon D40X and started a quest to learn how to use my camera and capture good images.

Since joining the Photography Club I have been challenged by the wealth of experience and expertise of fellow members. I have been enriched by the classes, workshops and educational opportunities. I am grateful for the time and talents that fellow members share with me on a regular basis.

I enjoy all types of photography but my favorite is landscapes. It is almost magical to see the beauty and then actually take it home with me. Photography has become my passion and although I am very much a work in progress it brings joy and fulfillment to my life.
